It’s the best time of the year.
I don’t know, if there’ll be snow.
But have a cup of [TEA]!”
Who doesn’t like tea and cookies, especially when they’re Christmas-themed? Here’s a list of Christmas Tea Times at some of Beijing’s finest hotels. All of these Christmas Teas are available upon walk-in, but you can call the hotel ahead of time to book your spot as well. Most of them also offer special discounts when you purchase through Dianping.
JW Marriott
Your kids will absolutely adore the JW Marriott Christmas tea featuring a lovely holiday scene with trees, a gingerbread man, snowman, and reindeer, all of which are completely edible and probably delicious! Tea time is from 1-5pm and there’s a mixture of savory and sweet treats included for the price of RMB 398 on weekends, but only RMB 298 on weekdays if you grab the Dianping voucher! Valid until Dec 31.
Rosewood Hotel
As Alice and just about every adult
knows, tea time isn’t just about tea. Sometimes, we go a little crazy
and have a glass (or two) of champagne! The Rosewood Beijing’s Christmas
Tea is a fancy affair to remember, with a dazzling array of little
bites including caviar and alcoholic pairings. You might want to leave
the kids at home for this and just take your friends instead, though I
have seen families with little ones at tea time! Valid through to Dec
31, noon to 6pm, RMB 888 for 2.
Waldorf Astoria Hotel
German plush toy company Steiff teamed up with Waldorf Astoria to bring kids an unforgettable bear-themed tea experience with menu items like bear claws, honey-flavored desserts, and gummy bears, not to mention the edible Steiff lookalike chocolate bear cake! Oh and there’s a giant Steiff teddy bear to greet your kids at the entrance, plus you’ll take home a slightly smaller bear too. Prepare to pay a premium though, as the tea for two will set you back RMB 788. Tea time is from 2-6pm and this experience will be available until next February.
Nuo Resort Universal Beijing
We are in China after all, so why not appreciate a little of the local culture while sipping tea at the Nuo Universal hotel? There’ll be live traditional folk music everyday from 2 – 5pm while you enjoy scones and other Christmas treats.
Intercontinental Beijing Sanlitun Hotel
As if tea wasn’t fancy enough, the Intercontinental Sanlitun is adding a crowning touch to its Christmas Tea with the theme of Christmas Royal Afternoon Tea. Put on your bling and get ready to shine at the Royal Lounge from now until Jan 6 next year, between 11am – 7pm.
Legendary Hotel
If you haven’t visited this grand hotel just to hear your voice echo in its huge atrium, it may be the time this holiday season because they’ve got a wonderful Christmas Tea happening daily from 2 – 6pm until Dec 31. The full board of Christmas goodies will set you back RMB 518 for two, but there’s also an option for a smaller Christmas set priced at RMB 198 which consists of 2 coffees or 1 pot of tea, a fresh fruit platter and 3 Christmas donuts.
